Biography
Research is focused on biochemical, mechanistic and structural insights for industrial applications of yeasts and fungi isolated from marine environments and mangrove ecosystems. An experimental biochemist with 30 years experience in protein chemistry and developing protein structure-function relationships. The main interests currently focus on programs in biodiesel production from microbial sources, Biotherapeutics from Indian medicinal plants, self-assembling proteins as biomaterials and applications of dehalogenases for biotransformation or detoxification of halogenated compounds and epoxide hydrolases for synthesis of chiral pharmaceutical intermediates.

Marina G Kalyuzhnaya currently works at the Department of Biology, San Diego State University. Marina does research in Molecular Biology, Ecology and Genetics. Their current project is 'Abiotic stress responses in Boechera.'

Biography
Salvatore Parisi, PhD, FSPCA PCQI, obtained his PhD in ‘Hygiene applied to the Evaluation and Management of Microbiological, Food and Environmental Risks’, University of Messina, Italy. With relation to professional responsibilities, he is the Series Editor of the SpringerBriefs in Chemistry of Foods book series and an Editorial Board Member of different scientific Journals. His papers, books and software concern Packaging technology, Polymer Chemistry, Shelf Life Prediction and Food Microbiology (Italian Oxoid Award, 2001). In addition, he has conducted lectures near academic Institutes in Italy. He is a member of many national and international associations and institutions.

Abu Hashem has completed his graduation and post graduation degrees in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is the Senior Scientific Officer & Head of Microbial Biotechnology Division, and Coordinator, National Institute of Biotechnology, a nationalized Biotechnology research organization in Bangladesh. He has published more than 10 papers in reputed journals and has been involved in editorial activities in Jordan Journal of Biological Sciences.
